Visitors to the art room look forward to their weekly class, contribute well in discussions and decision making and enthusiastically encourage each other in their work. Staff TrainingFor environmental education:In 2005, artSPACE led a training session for Scottish Natural Heritage in their day of “Leading Edge” interpretation for environmental education staff. Surrounded by the beautiful landscapes, participants undertook sessions in simple ways of translating the environment. They were encouraged to look at the shapes surrounding them, using different materials such as ink, paint and rollers. These sessions aimed to demonstrate easy ways to encourage children in educational settings to look at the landscape surrounding them. Participants enjoyed these sessions and overcame some of their own insecurities in perceiving their surroundings visually. |
